Hi Amanda, so how's it going, how do you get your client's do you network?

Hi MadHR, its going ok thank you. I'm steadily building a client base - mainly through networking and 'word of mouth' from clients who have worked with me. The networking I found tough at first as I find it hard to 'sell myself' but I'm feeling more at ease with it now and am building some good relationships with some lovely individuals. I've also done a little 'cold calling' and introductory emails/letters - not with brilliant success but some. I do think the way forward for building a strong client base is face to face networking.
I'm also steadily learning how to utilise the power of social media - LinkedIn, twitter, etc - but not quite there yet!!
Do you work for yourself? If so how do you market yourself?
