New to the website.Need some advice I am recently completed university I have been constantly applying for jobs with no response and I do have some experience during university holidays i worked as a admin/hr assistant where i did very basic things such as interviewing calling applicants looking through CVS updating employee information I know there is so much more to HR and graduate schemes are so competitive and difficult to get into its become frustrating and i have no idea what I should do does anyone have any advice.Maybe its my CV I just have no idea.
Well it is a tough market out there at the moment, but how much experience have you had?
Try to focus on what you learnt from your experiences too... it's not just about what you did, but how you can use this in the future, sometimes this is more appropriate in a covering letter though...
It's also very important to check for spelling and grammar, as this can be the smallest thing that excludes you if there are a lot of applications.
Have you checked out the Latest HR Jobs page: Latest HR Jobs it has 'most' of the latest HR Jobs in the web all in one place...
Happy job hunting...

It's about a years worth on and off I am even willing to work voluntarily just so I can gain experience but it's still so hard. Once I'm given the chance I will work hard but nobodies even giving me the chance to prove it
Have you looked into getting a HR qualification if your degree was unrelated?
Have you tried a CV Advice Website?
Also, search for HR Career Search, there are a few dedicated HR sites out there that might be better than a generic job board.
Maybe also try some speculative applications/ letters to places you would like to work, maybe as an intern/ volunteer?

Hi Odedra,
Have you managed to secure a job yet?
If not I would seriously recommend trying to undertake a HR Internship.
Like you I graduated from University earlier this year and really struggled to find a job in HR, lets face it there is so much competition out there.
You may not be doing anthing wrong, often there may just be someone else out there with that little more experience than you, who pips you to the post.
This is certainly what happened to me, in the end I changed my appraoched and applied purely to HR Interships. This proved highly successful and I was lucky enough to secure an Internship earier this year.
I am now learning so much whilst getting paid a wage at the same time.
It is definately a foot in the door and I would highly recommend it.
