Hello I am currently living in Hull and are looking to progress within the HR field, the only problem is within Hull there is a lack of job opportunities. I have started to apply for jobs across the country, in the cities e.g. London and are wondering how I should communicate across to them that I am happy to relocate as I do not think the recruitment agencies and employers are taking my application seriously. I have had quite a few phone calls about why I want to relocate and then after have received no more response on the application. The other day I applied for a job got told by the person I was the ideal candidate on paper but she was unsure the employer would be interested in me as I live to far away.
I am looking for the level of HR assistant/ administrator, Has anyone else had problems when looking to relocate for a job? how have you solved these problems and any other advice. I am so passionate about a career within HR and are wondering of the way to sell myself and be given the chance to get to an interview stage to prove to a employer that i am serious about relocating.
THANK YOU![]()

Hi Silby1987
I regularly receive applications from candidates who live miles away from the location of the position. From a recruiters point of view, I would recommend writing a good covering letter which explains your desire to relocate to the area. If you don't already have a house/family comittments etc, it would be a good idea to tell them that you could move immediatey (if this is the case).
It might also be worth adding something to your CV by your address to say that you are **relocating to the area** so the recruiter can see this information at a glance, just incase they don't receive/read your covering letter.
Good luck and let us know how you get on :-)
